Today turned out much different than what we initially planned. What we expected was to attempt one of our most difficult days of hiking from Moshav Arbel to Capernaum. What we didn't expect was for me to develop several blisters from our hike the day before. So Gary went ahead of me to do the hike alone to Tiberius instead to bring a rental car back to pick me up. As lame as this minor injury is, we both actually enjoyed this solution! It allowed me to get the rest I needed and Gary to enjoy his time alone with God!

Despite this set back, we still had a great day! We got the chance to visit some outstanding sights on the Galilean shore. We stopped by the dig sites of ancient Magdala, home of Mary Madeline. Here we saw a recently discovered old village which included a well preserved temple and its bimah! We then went on to a museum that houses the Ancient Galilee Boat, also know as the Jesus Boat. We then got settled in early at our final stop just outside of Caperneum, finishing our night watching episodes 7 & 8 of the Chosen.

Psalms‬ ‭18‬:‭32‬-‭36‬ ‭NIV‬‬

”It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he causes me to stand on the heights. He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze. You make your saving help my shield, and your right hand sustains me; your help has made me great. You provide a broad path for my feet, so that my ankles do not give way.“
‭‭

Psalms 18 has been my Psalm for the year. Not for one second did I really think God would put me in a situation where I'd feel failure or find discouragement. Even with the knowledge of innevitable adversity, I thought this adventure would go smoothly. BUT BROTHERS AND SISTERS, let me tell you... blisters will make you question everything. Walking those last several miles yesterday was rough. However, even with today's challenge of difficulty walking, I believe that this journey isn't over yet! Gary agrees! We're not done following in the steps of Christ who walked this very Earth! I believe more than ever that God is my strength, he is providing a path for my feet, and he is sustaining me! I look forward to healing up soon and getting back at it!

Reflection: Consider how the challenges in your life right now could actually be God trying to show his power and love to you in deeper ways!
